This was conveyed by the Director of Mineral Development Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Exploitation Ida Suhendra Dede who met at the Hotel Sultan, Jakarta, Wednesday (11/16/2011).
"From there, we'll (ask) with Newmont, because there's no obligation to fill in the country, so we're maximize its first," he explained.
Dede hopes eventually there is contact between the government and Newmont to increase the supply of concentrates from gold mining companies in the NTB.
"I have no contact with them, so it should be discussed again, we ask semaksimumnya (to cover the supply of Freeport is stalled)," he said.
Dede said Newmont had been accounted for 30% of the concentrate processing capacity Smelting Gresik, while the rest is supplied by Freeport.
